This past Saturday, we made gingerbread houses, our favorite Christmas tradition! We had a great time deliberating over our designs, and it was neat to see what different ideas we had this year!

| Bethany decided to make a zoo this year, which was a new idea we'd never tried before. Tootsie-roll-and-pretzel fences hold the chocolate animals in pens, complete with M&M sidewalks |

| I stuck with the simple look, since I prefer plain gingerbread and icing than a lot of candy. Jelly-beans and green icing for my bushes, a pretzel fence, and chocolate chips for my sidewalk... yum! |

| Nate was the most architectural one (you can tell he does construction work). He carefully designed his chocolate chip ridge cap, and spent a great deal of time tediously constructing the perfect chimney (which you can see in below pic, far left). He also penned his livestock in a sturdy corral. We told him, though, that he could have used a little help in more decoration: it's definitely a bachelor's house. =P |

What are you all's favorite Christmas traditions?
They look delicious! And I know for a fact that 2 and 2/3 of them are eaten already! Ha Ha!
ReplyDeleteChristmas cookies were always a big tradition, along with not putting our presents under the tree until Christmas eve night before we went to bed. Less temptation that way! He he!

Delete:)))) Yumm! We will be doing gingerbread houses with the Mann's again this year. We will be doing them in January like we normally do. :) Can't wait 'til we make them, either. They are so yummy! I like putting a lot of candy on mine. our Christmas tradition is probably Gingerbread houses too. :)

DeleteYou all's houses always look so good. We aren't quite that great at making ours yet :) We like making our Gingerbread houses in January after the rush of Christmas is over. There is nothing like homemade gingerbread!!
